Our Mission Statement: HI Tech Kids supports both technology based learning and health and fitness programs for the children of Harbour Island.
2018 Dates: June 25 - July 6

We are hosting an annual two-week summer camp on Harbour Island in the Bahamas that started July 2016 and is continuing on into the following summers. The camp focuses on laptop-based educational games as well as health and fitness. We are enrolling 35 campers in grades K-3 for the two-week session, and the program is offered free of cost. In planning, we have contacted local school personnel, police officers, and health clinic staff to help us design and implement a program that will be most beneficial to the Island.

Our counselors, ages 13-18y, volunteer at local schools and kids' organizations in order to gain experience and develop their leadership skills. Our directors and adult advisors include dedicated local non-profit leaders, doctors, educators, and attorneys.

HI Tech Kids aims not only to provide an enriching camp experience for two weeks each summer, but also to increase the childrens' access to technology by donating the tablets to the local library for year-round use.

We thank you in advance for your support and ask that you consider a contribution to our cause via the "Donate" tab above.

Why?

Founding Counselors:

Harbour Island has been a traditional vacation spot for our family for four generations. The island has tremendous natural beauty and a rich culture. One of the things we have always loved most about the island is getting to know many warm-hearted, friendly, and loving local people.

Growing up in Silicon Valley, we have the benefit of technology-based education in our schools and appreciate the role this plays in our learning.  We are excited to share this with the children on Harbour Island.

Harbour Island is a small island in the Bahamas only three miles long and half a mile wide. The population of the island is approximately 2000, and it is famous for its pink sand beaches.
